The Heidelberg Airport, located in the Lesedi municipal region of Gauteng Province, South Africa, was handed over to MTP Aviation in 2021. The purpose of this handover is to maximize the economic potential of the property and turn it into a fully functioning aerodrome, which will support economic development in the region.

Under the 60-year concession agreement awarded by the Lesedi Local Municipality to MTP Aviation Solutions, a multi-billion rand construction project and strategic management will be included. The project aims to develop the facility into an advanced aerodrome with a dedicated trade zone and a world-class cargo terminal, which will have an initial capacity of 100,000 tons per annum.
